“Work is a very serious matter indeed. We freight our work with meaning and identity, and fight hard and long for some kind of purpose in our endeavors. Vocation is a moveable frontier between what we want for ourselves and what the world demands of us.”

David White, Poet & Writer

My name is Tara
I am a leadership & team coach, Lecturer, Podcaster and occasional blogger

My clients love my challenging style, sometimes uncomfortable and sometimes messy especially with teams, but always in service of a better outcome.

“In a nutshell I help people get out of their own way”
I am very conscious of your reality, pressurised and always on, full of complexity, challenge and change.

You are asked to be more  self-aware and demonstrate emotional intelligence needed for a more mindful leadership.  Teams are too. In fact the biggest change I see is the new way we manage, lead, and operate our companies to cope in a digital reality.

This is where I help. I promote meaningful dialogue to get at what really matters. I then help chart a course or direction that is more purposeful, true & satisfying.

The simple truth is that I work with ambitious individuals and teams to accelerate business success. The hard truth is that there are hard truths and challenges to face. Some conversations are decidedly uncomfortable even messy out of which comes transformation. That is the work.

Some words from clients of mine

I’ve had the pleasure of working with Tara for almost three years now. Being new to coaching initially, I was unsure what to expect or what ‘good’ would look like, but within a very short period of time I had established an excellent rapport with Tara and she in turn had established good read on me; my style, ambitions, challenges and generally what makes me tick. Through some rich conversations, Tara often challenged me to think about things differently; in more constructive and productive ways. I developed new and successful strategies which have produced tangible and well recognised results.

I have known Tara Nolan since 2010 when she was engaged to work with me and a few other board member of the General Insurance business for Zurich in Ireland. Tara helped me see my value, leadership strength and the transferable nature of my skills to operate in a much different culture and way of working. Tara helped me assume and transition to my now current role as CEO for the GI business for Zurich in Ireland. Tara greatest skill is her ability to challenge with care and empathy. She is quick to appreciate the commercial reality of a situation, build awareness and unearth different perspectives to support an alternative course of action. I appreciated her candour, forthright feedback, insight and intellect. She is creative, resourceful and always-in service of the person or team in front of her.

Tara has been working with our organization for a number of years now and has built a significant reputation for being a truly successful Executive Coach and an expert facilitator but where she has really excelled is within the area of Senior Leadership Team Coaching. As an Executive Coach she has helped a number of senior leaders, including myself, to achieve their potential through addressing shortcomings by building realistic action plans. However, when it comes to transformational challenges, she has the ability to get straight to the blockers and can bring any team on a journey to address them.

I find you have the skills to get me to understand the root of the issues that I am trying to address. You are very skilled at leading me through analysis of issues to enable me to identify the best and most impactful path forward to resolve them effectively. You bring in supporting theories to the discussion to help anchor the conversation while keeping the discussion practical and focused on what is possible. You are empathetic but also a firm voice that will push me to address the full facts/ behavior and ensure that I arrive at a productive solution to ensure a better future outcome.
